- Try applying over black, especially if you do very thin coats. Alternatively, a coat over a complementary colour can give a dramatic edge.

Application
Apply in 2-3 coats for maximum dimension and depth. Layer to your desired preference.
A base coat can prevent staining (especially for darker shades) and top coat can prolong the wear time and minimize chipping.
